Heck, based on how Freddy was friendly enough with Bonnie to have a bowling ball in his room and to "miss him", maybe Vanny tested out her control over the animatronics on Bonnie first before the game and something went wrong and he went and attacked Monty out of paranoia over Monty being able to replace him? Yeah that what's I've been saying too! It makes zero sense for Monty to be the one to decommission Bonnie and then for Bonnie to be replaced with Monty when they could just rebuild Bonnie! And the way Freddy reacts to how the others, including Monty, act during the game in terms of them trying to *hurt* Gregory and saying they aren't allowed to do that and being violent is against their programming? Why would Freddy be so friendly with Monty in the opening and be so sure that Monty wouldn't hurt Gregory if he was constantly aggressive and the one to decommission Bonnie? He wouldn't be.
